I
.,
4

- 2 -

Map Revisions to Flood Insurance Rate Maps or Flood Hazard Boundary Maps. Floodplain
map revisions (e.g. FEMA Letters of Map Revision) will be designated twice annually by the
CWCB during a regularly scheduled Board meeting and will not be subject to a full technical
review by the CWCB staff.

.

It was determined that because a LOMR goes through a comprehensive review process by FEMA to determine
if the document meets or exceeds all technical requirements set forth by the updated Rules, it would be
redundant for CWCB staff to undergo a similar review process. For this reason, it is assumed that a LOMR that
is issued by FEMA has met all requirements for completeness and accuracy set forth by the Rules, and it will be
presented to the Board twice annually in batch format for designation without any staff review.

This agenda item represents the first such request for designation. All future LOMR batch requests will be
presented as part of the CWCB Consent Agenda, similar to other actions for designation and approval of
regulatory floodplain information.

Request for Designation
The attached spreadsheet summarizes Letters of Map Revision that are hereby presented to the Board for
designation at this meeting. All LOMRs presented in this spreadsheet will be incorporated into Designation No.
07-595, with a sub-designation identifier of a) through y). For example, the first LOMR presented (for the City
of Lakewood, affecting Lakewood Gulch) is identified as 07-595(a).

Staff Recommendation ..
For each Letter of Map Revision presented in this agenda item, staff recommends that the Board: 1)
designate and approve the revised floodplain information presented in said LOMR, and 2) authorize staff
to prepare a floodplain resolution to be signed by the Director and transmitted to the appropriate
jurisdiction(s) as indicated in the spreadsheet. This action is recommended in order to meet statutory
requirements.

.

Flood Protection. Water Project Planriing and Financing.
