Generally, the City's growth and development are focused on the western side. Due to residential
growth and increasing development in the manufacturing sector, range and agricultural lands are
being transfonned into urban and suburban areas. Based on available data. building permits have
increased from a low of 1.533 in 1989 to 2,530 in 1991. The latest available land use statistics are
included in Table 3-2.
