<br />1992 Conservation Plan Objectives and Accomplishments <br /> <br />Objectives- <br /> <br />1. Control Use of Project Water through set Allocation Principles and an <br />Allocation Committee-achieved as outlined in the 1992 Conservation Plan <br />and ongoing. <br /> <br />2. Provide for the more efficient use of native Arkansas River Water through the <br />utilization of the Winter Water Storage Program-achieved as outlined in the <br />1992 Conservation Plan and ongoing. <br /> <br />3. Utilize the expertise in various organizations to evaluate historic data and <br />current information to formulate short and long-term water management <br />programs through the USGS Cooperative Programs which are designed to <br />monitor surface water flows and groundwater levels, and through the work of <br />the newly created Chief Engineer position at the District-achieved as <br />outlined in the 1992 Conservation plan and ongoing. However, the District no <br />longer maintains the Chief Engineer position. <br /> <br />4. Keep the public and water officials fully informed on the operation of the <br />Project and other key water-related matters through the publication of specific <br />reports, news releases, agency reports and the annual report of the District- <br />achieved as outlined in the 1992 Conservation Plan and ongoing. <br /> <br />5. Regularly distribute the official proceedings of the District and make <br />information available on current legislative matters -achieved as outlined in <br />the 1992 Conservation Plan and ongoing. <br /> <br />6. Provide almost instantaneous river readings from strategic locations, using <br />satellites for distribution of signals through the State's Satellite Stream Gaging <br />Program-achieved as outlined in the 1992 Conservation Plan and ongoing. <br /> <br />7. Provide updated, technical information to selected persons responsible for the <br />operations, maintenance, and planning through educational short courses and <br />tours-achieved as outlined in the 1992 Conservation Plan and ongoing. <br /> <br />8. Assist in the rapid dissemination of data between State (Division) Engineer, <br />U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the District and related agencies through the <br />operation of a coordinated computer system-- <br />
