A. General

The improvements to the water distribution system simulated in analysis conditions 3 and 5
resulted in acceptable water pressures. The improvements simulated in analysis condition 4 did
not provide noticeable water pressure improvements. Therefore, the following improvement
alternatives correct apparent distribution system deficiencies that occur during fire flow demands
in the eastern portion of town.

Alternative 1

. Replacement of :f:400 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe with 8" diameter ductile iron pipe along
Cherry Street and bypass :f:800 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe along Oak and Tenth Streets where
shown on the enclosed town map. The bypass will be constructed with 8" diameter ductile iron
pipe along Ninth and Cherry Streets. Installation of a new pressure reducing valve (PRV)
northerly of the intersection of French Street and Chico Drive would also be part of this
alternative.
