The excavated material
will assist in filling low areas that would be inundated at 5444 to ensure these areas are usable at this
proposed elevation,
The current buildings, lawn area, and recreational facilities would be rebuilt in the new location,
The proposed location would require the Chatfield interior road to be relocated, This road would be
elevated to ensure operations at 5444 and in the case of a flood event higher,

Deer Creek

Much of the Deer Creek area is 50% inundated at 5444,
Due to new road alignment that is dictated by the relocation of the swim beach, the amount of usable
area near the Deer Creek site is reduced in size,
Balloon staging area would be relocated to the southern area of the reservoir due to the large amount
of area required and need for overflow parking area for the balloon festival.
Existing day use facilities would be relocated along the new Deer Creek inlet shoreline,

Entrance Station

Due to road realignments, the entrance station would need to be relocated, The existing facility will
require demolition. The new facility would be built approximately 200' from the existing one,

All the existing entrance roads, parking, shelters, restrooms, and utilities would be inundated, New parking
facilities would be developed closer to each of the group use areas, thereby enhancing access to these
areas, These areas, which currently don't directly relate to the water, would have an improved setting,
each situated on an elevated site overlooking the reservoir, As noted on Map 3,2, the coves adjacent to the
group use areas would be excavated, providing fill needed at other locations, but these excavations would
also help to hold water during lower water conditions,

Jamison Dav Use Area

The entire area is relocated south of current location, Parking and restroom facility will require
replacement. Furniture can be relocated to the new location,

Catfish Flats and Fox Run Group Day Use Areas

Each structure, furniture and recreational facilities would be relocated to new location,
The large parking area would be demolished and each use area would be serviced by a dedicated
parking area located adjacent to each site,
Filling would be required to raise site elevations at selected locations,

EDA W February 2004

Page 22
