The original restriction was placed on
the operation of the gate before the flip bucket was added to the
outlet. The gate was tested this spring by Lee Gerbig of the E&R
Center and Jack Langford of the Regional Office and found to operate
satisfactorily under the higher reservoir water surface elevation.
Both the guard gate and the regulating gate should be well lubricated
before operation at the higher head.

These gates can be operated at the higher head while the main outlet
works are drained and repairs completed. The Review of Operation and
Maintenance examination will be held on October 1, 1979, and an
e7~ftlination of both outlet works will be required at this time.

I'

Don H.
