F_ourth, the channel
improvements suggested in this analysis are based on a brief snap~?_ot of ~reas <?~s~~~~da!td
p~QRreintervie~ed. A thorough mile by mile, ownerbyowner analysis is ne'eded to better
address the overall impacts to the public and the flood protection needed. An idea surfaced
during this analysis of forming a committee federal, state, and local representatives to establish
the extent of analysis needed, level of protection provided, priorities for providing protection,
and suggest means of providing protection. These ideas are offered to further the possibility of
implementing the passage of flows higher than 5,000 cfs from Navajo Dam down the San Juan
River.
