<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />1 <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />The proposed research activities by the Colorado State University (CSU) team will be <br />funded through the Weather Damage Modification Program Grant received by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. <br />The detailed pricing information for the CSU Subcontract with the CWCB is attached. <br />All other costs (project management and administration, technical consultant, and <br />operational cloud seeding) will be covered by the CWCB and the Denver Water <br />Department (DWD). <br /> <br />Cost~ Covered by the 50-50 Cost Sharing Requirement <br /> <br />CWCB Project Management and Administration <br /> <br />Project Manager, Joe Busto: 1.0 month <br /> <br />Project Administration (Grant with Reclamation and Subcontract with CSU): 0.5 month <br /> <br />The total cost for these in-kind CWCB services would be approximately $13,000 <br /> <br />CWCB Technical Consultant <br /> <br />Consultant, Curt Hartzell, CCM <br />Labor: 1.0 month (176 hours) at $75.00 per hour = <br />Travel: 2 trips to Denver at $504.00 each = <br />Computer charges for data/internet line = <br />Supplies (printer paper & ink, misc.) = <br />Subtotal <br /> <br />$13,200 <br />$ 1,008 <br />$ 26 <br />$ 166 <br />$14,400 <br /> <br />Labor rate includes benefits, office overhead, administrative costs, and insurance. The <br />computer charge is $26 per person month (same rate as CSU). Travel is included for two <br />round-trips from Willmar, Minnesota to Denver, Colorado for the midterm and final <br />meetings. Personal owned vehicle mileage only is included at $0.28 per mile (same rate <br />as CSU). Mileage per trip is estimated at 1,800 miles. No per diem or lodging will be <br />charged, because he plans to stay with family in Colorado. <br /> <br />DWD Program Cloud Seeding Operations <br /> <br />Manager, Larry Hjermstad - Western Weather Consultants, LLC (WWC) is the <br />operational cloud seeding contractor for the DWD program that the proposed model- <br />based research is piggy-backed onto. This DWD program is estimated at $450,000 for <br />the 2003-2004 winter season. As part of this program, Larry will include the testing of a <br />currently utilized Seeding Response Model developed by WWC to evaluate operation- <br />seeding programs (see Section 2.3 in Technical Proposal). <br /> <br />III - 2 <br />
