<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />~UMMARY OF PROPOSED PROJtT <br />UTE WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT <br />PLATEAU CREEK PIPELINE PROJECT <br /> <br />Proiect Sponsor: Ute Water Conservancy District <br /> <br />Tvpe of Proiect: Municipal water supply - pipeline replacement <br /> <br />Location: About ten miles east of Grand Junction in Mesa County (see attached map) <br /> <br />Planning Studies: <br /> <br />Feasibility Study, Plateau Creek Pipeline, Western Engineers, October 1987 <br /> <br />Feasibility Study Amendment Reportfor Plateau Creek Pipeline, Steffen Robertson & <br />Kirsten, February 1991 <br /> <br />Plateau Creek Pipeline Replacement Project, Final Environmental Impact Statement, <br />Camp Dresser & Mckee Inc., February 1998 <br /> <br />Proiect Description: The District is proposing to replace its existing Plateau Creek <br />Pipeline with a new line from Jerry Creek Reservoirs to the Ute Water Treatment Plant <br />near Palisade as shown on the attached map. The preliminary design includes 11.3 miles <br />of 48-inch diameter pipe and 4.1 miles of 54-inch diameter pipe. There are a total of 13 <br />creek crossings and a new, 3,250-foot long tunnel near the confluence of Plateau Creek <br />and the Colorado River. The District hopes to begin design this year and to start <br />construction early next year. Construction is expected to take two years. <br /> <br />Estimated Cost: $30.3 million <br /> <br />. Existing Authorization: SB-30 in 1988 for $8.0 million of which about $1.6 million has <br />been disbursed leaving a remaining balance of about $6.4 million for design and <br />construction <br />
