-
c ~ .~ <
Colorado-Big Thompson Project water. Additional CBT water is conveyed to the
Town by new development as it occurs. CBT water is transferred to Central
Weld's water treatment plant at Carter Lake, outside of Berthoud. Central Weld
treats and then delivers the water to Firestone through their own distribution
network. Firestone has ten points of connection to Central Weld's system, each
consisting of a master meter vault and appurtenances. Water storage has been
contractually provided by Central Weld in the past, but the Town is currently
constructing a 1.5 Million Gallon water storage tank.
6. The Town of Firestone will complete its first Water Conservation Plan. The Town
will quantify its current water usage, develop water conservation measures to
implement, and determine the benefits/impacts of the implementation. The plan
will describe new conservation measures and goals that the Town intends to
achieve. See Attachment A for the anticipated Scope of Work.
7. The Town will complete the project in accordance with the estimated Project
Schedule shown in Attachment B.
8. The Town intends to use the grant money for completion of the Water
Conservation Plan. The Town will provide its selected consultants all
information, including billing and financial information, as well as staff time to
successfully complete the Plan. The Town recognizes the importance of water
conservation and will contribute $4,500 to this effort. See Attachment C for the
breakdown of Project Fees - grant money, Town money and in-kind services.
9. liThe Town Council of Firestone is committed to water resource sustainability and
water conservation. The Town intends to do its part to preserve water for future
generations. Both Staff and Council understand the needs and benefits to
implement long-term water conservation measures. We are committed to
complete a Water Conservation Plan in its entirety to be approved by CWCB for
the grant money requested."
-y>>~~~
Michael Simone, Mayor
C~egr 'V+/~~e~' R.~grr.ts?
