<br />Attachment #2 <br />Statement of Organization Commitment/Capability <br />The City of North glenn has the organizational commitment to plan and implement <br />effective long-term water savings measures and programs as follows: <br />(a) Level of staffing committed to the effort - The City uses a team approach for its <br />conservation efforts. There are two full time staff members: the Water Resources <br />Coordinator and the Conservationist. Other staff members from City departments <br />are used for assistance, these include wastewater (reuse) and parks staff. The <br />Conservationist supervises all conservation efforts and maintains water savings <br />databases and reports regularly to management. The Conservationist also works <br />with staff from surrounding cities and regional conservationists. <br />(b) Capabilities of the staff - The Water Resources Coordinator has 14 years of <br />experience. She has a BS in Horticulture from California State University and a <br />MS in Earth Resources from Colorado State University. The City has recently <br />added the Conservationist as a staff position and will shortly fill this position. <br />The Conservationist is required to have a bachelor's degree in either <br />environmental or watershed science and have a minimum of three years <br />experience working with the public in an educational capacity. <br />(c) Level of organizational communication with the public - Information regarding <br />conservation efforts are provided to the public in a variety of communication <br />methods: the conversation link on the City website provides information on <br />indoor and outdoor conservation techniques; rebates applications; e-mail <br />questions to the Conservationist from the website; special insets and notices are <br />included in water bills; at new homeowner orientation; class listing in the Parks <br />and Recreation schedule; Channel 8 programming and information in local <br />newspapers. <br />(d) Level of commitment from the governing board/counsel- The City is very <br />committed to conservation efforts. City Council passed Resolution No. 04-83, <br />" A Resolution Approving the Metro Mayors Caucus 2004 Regional <br />Memorandum of Understanding on Water", on September 9,2004. The City <br />was also one of the 27 municipalities that signed the Caucus's Memorandum of <br />Understanding on Water Conservation and Stewardship on January 22,2005. <br />Kathleen Novak, the Mayor of North glenn, was the Water Committee Co-Chair. <br />Signed By: <br />Acting City Manager <br />Date: <br />August 30, 2006 <br />
