As a State Legislator in the Colorado General Assembly, Tom <br />has spearheaded the environmental agenda with legislation establishing a Renewable <br />Energy Portfolio Standard, Net Metering, Conservation Tax Credits and more. As the <br />Vice Chair of the Joint Budget Committee and the Chair of the House Appropriations <br />Committee, he has promoted investment in environmental conservation in the State. Tom <br />formerly worked for the Union of Concerned Scientists in Washington, DC, promoting <br />policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ran a small business with his wife in <br />Nederland, Colorado, from 1994-2001. <br /> <br />tp lant@conservationcenter.org <br />303-441-3278 ext. 17 <br /> <br />CRC Operations Director <br />Seth Portner <br /> <br />Seth has worked for the Center for ReSource Conservation since May of 2002. He has <br />managed many programs for the Center during his tenure, and also manages the staff and <br />operations for the CRC. Construction waste recycling and its proliferation in Boulder <br />County are of particular interest to Mr. Portner. He was awarded the Community <br />Foundation's 2004 Nova Award for best environmental program for the Holiday <br />Neighborhood Construction Waste Recycling program.
