<br />Completion of the lining of the company's secondary canal is scheduled for mid 1993 at an . <br />estimated cost of $580,000. <br /> <br />Muddy Creek (Wolford Mountain) Proiect <br /> <br />The appropriation for the Muddy Creek (Wolford Mountain) project was increased to <br />$20,000,000 under HE 91-1006. This appropriation is for a 25 year loan to the CRWCD for <br />20,000,000 at a 5 percent interest rate. Plans and specifications for the project have been <br />competed and construction is slated to begin early in 1993. <br /> <br />Chatfield Channel Improvement Proiect <br /> <br />Section 4 of SB 90-41 increased the amount authorized previously for the Chatfield Channel <br />Improvement Project from $7,500,000 to $8,600,000. The additional $1,100,000 was to modify <br />the hazardous dam at Union Avenue on the South Platte River. In 1991, a contract was awarded <br />and later amended to include the correction of hazardous conditions existing at two boat chutes <br />near Oxford Avenue in Englewood. Construction of the Union Avenue portion of this project <br />was completed in the spring of 1992. The Oxford Avenue portion is scheduled to be completed <br />by the spring of 1993. <br /> <br />Towaoc Municipal Water Supply Pipeline <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Towaoc pipeline was part of the Colorado Ute Indian Rights Final Settlement Agreement <br />authorized in section 3 of SB 88-30. Construction has been completed and the system has now <br />been operational for one and one half years. The only remaining unfinished item on this project <br />is to transfer title of the project from the State to the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Tribe, and this <br />matter will be accomplished early in 1993. <br /> <br />2.4 Progress on Studies and Plans Authorized Last Year <br /> <br />In recognition of the numerous obstacles to accomplishing water development and <br />management in the 1990s, the Board requested in 1992 that it be able to make investments from <br />the construction fund for specific problem solving activities. Such activities included <br />investigations of groundwater recharge potential, development of information needed to resolve <br />management and regulatory issues in specific basin areas, and issues involved in interbasin <br />transfers. <br /> <br />San Luis Valley Water Rechan!e and Management Plan <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Section 9 of SB 92-87 authorized the Board to expend up to $45,000 from the fund for a <br /> <br />CWCB Annual Report, page 8 <br />
