Land and Cattle, LLC <br />(Note: nis memo has been updated to Indicate that the borrower in an LLC,) <br /> <br />Introduction <br />The G.M.S. Land and Cattle, LLC (GMSLCC) is applying for a $200,000 loan to rehabilitate the <br />Giffin #1 and #2 reservoirs. The estimated total cost of the project is $223,000. Please see the <br />attached project summary and map. <br /> <br />BackQround <br />The GMSLCC, located in Weld County, owns and operates the Giffin #1 and #2 reservoirs for <br />storage of water for irrigation of 160 acres of farmland. The reservoirs are located 18 miles <br />northeast of Fort Collins and have a storage decree for 139.5 acre-feet, but have become silted in <br />to a capacity of about 75 acre-feet. GMSLCC wants to excavate a total of 105,000 cubic yards of <br />sediment and rehabilitate the upstream slope of each dam, to provide water for its <br />farming/ranching operation during drought periods, <br /> <br />Feasibility Studies <br />Duane Smith, P.E., of Smith Geotechnical, has completed the feasibility study. The report <br />includes an evaluation of alternatives available to rehabilitate the Giffin #1 and #2 reservoirs. <br /> <br />The G.M.S. Land and Cattle. LLC <br />The GMSLCC is a Colorado Limited Liability Company (C.R.S. 7-80-101 et seq.) formed in <br />2001 and registered with the Colorado Secretary of State, The purpose of this Company is to <br />engage in farming, ranching and livestock feeding operations, and other farming and ranching <br />activities, The Company has the power to buy and sell farms, and to pledge or mortgage real <br />estate as collateral forfarm loans. <br />
