The previous deadline was
Monday, April 16, 1990.

The extension was granted in response to the number of commentors thus far
who have indicated the period was too short. Those comments largely came at
public meetings held in Salt Lake City, UT, Denver, CO, and Phoenix and
Flagstaff, AZ.

The public is currently being asked to provide comments to the Bureau of
Reclamation, and its cooperating agencies, concerning issues, concerns, and
suggested alternatives that should be considered in the development of an EIS
on the operations of Glen Canyon Darn and its effects on Grand Canyon National
Park.

Requests for information and written comments concerning the EIS can be
sent to:

Glen Canyon Dam Environmental Impact statement
U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
PO Box 11568
Salt Lake City UT 84147

###
