Evergreen. Therefore, it is logical to focus on the portion of the

basin from Evergreen to the reservoir as it is likely that any confrol

programs will concentrate on that portion of the basin.

Land Use

Presently, the basin is largely undeveloped, with the Town of Evergreen

being the major urbanized area, The largest land use is open space and

large lot development (95 percent of the basin) with single family and

commercial development accounting for only 4 percent of the entire

basin. This trend continues into the year 2010 when the open space and

large lot remain the dominant land use but decrease to 93 percent of the

basin total. An increase is realized in the, single family land use (4

percent) as well as a small increase

in multifamily acreage (1 percent). Although the changes in land use

are not great, the population increases from 29700 in 1985 to 50500 in

the year 2010 for a 70 percent increase. Employment shows an even

greater increase (297 percent) between 1985 and 2010 due largely to

commercial development in the lower portions of the basin.
