No damage to the aqueduct proper was found. <br />Diagonal drains, parallel drains, backfill over siphons and conduit, <br />and patrol roads were damaged in varying degree at different <br />locations, particularly in Vidal Wash, at Sand Draw, along schedule <br />8 approaching Iron Mountain, and along schedule 10 east of the <br />Coxcombs. At Vidal Wash part of the upper canal embankment <br />was eroded for a distance of about 650 feet, following failure and <br />destruction of diagonal drains at two locations for a total length <br />of 1,100 feet, allowing flood water to wash against the embankment. <br />It is estimated that during the peak of the storm Vidal Wash car- <br />ried across the aqueduct line 6,800 cubic feet of water per second <br />from the drainage area above.
