The Interstate stream Commis-

sian through its prc:,gram in cooperati'.Jn with the U. S. Geological

Survey has undertaken to provide the ~aging stations and stream

flow measurements necessary to t.his research project.

The U. S Bureau of Reclamation has undertaken an investi-

c,ati:>J1 of evaporation suppression at Elephant Butte reservoir

on the Rio Grande.

New Mexico State university is cooperating

in this work and the results to date are encouraging. The
