As indicated above, the average for a year is greater <br /> <br />than the level during the period 1941 to 1968 and the peak monthly <br /> <br />concentration is even greater than the level for a year. <br /> <br />To depict effects of the Water Quali ty Improvement and Allied Pro- <br /> <br />Jr~. Table 1 was developed showing the projected reductions in <br /> <br />salinity concentrations for each program and the estimated effects <br /> <br />on the synthesized salinity levels at Imperial Dam. <br /> <br /> <br />The values in the table are initial estimates based on the average <br /> <br />hydrologic conditions for the period of record 1941-1968. <br /> <br />The 1970 average annual value of 865 rng/l has been derived on the <br /> <br />assumption that present developments in the basIn were completed and <br /> <br />operating during the perIod of record. In other words, the effects <br /> <br />on water quality of all present developments have been extended back <br /> <br />to 1941 from the time they became operational. <br /> <br />Similarly, the average annual values for the years 1980. 1990, .lnd <br /> <br />2000 were synthesi:ed to reflect the influence on water quality dur- <br /> <br />ing the period of record of water resource developments expected to <br /> <br />xvii <br />
