The beneficial use of <br />project water and reservoir evaporation of 1,400 acre-feet would <br />deplete the Colorado River by 34,100 acre-feet, which, together <br />wtth other exiating aucI plauued development, co.pletely usea all <br />of Rev Hexico's 11.25 percent allocation of vater under the Upper <br />Colorado Il1ver Basin Compact. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />The Economic Baae <br /> <br />The project will affect the people. and econOlllY of La Plata <br />County, Colorado, and San Juan County, Hew Meldco, by having <br />beneficial influences on jobs, agriculture and recreation. <br />During tbe peak year of conatruction, the population influx into <br />the project area will total approximately 3,730 pereou. The <br />joba asaociated wtth constructlon will total approximately 1,150. <br />\ <br /> <br />Aecordlng to a lleclamation analysis done in 1979, on completion <br />of the project a total of about 180 jobs vl11 be created in both <br />agriculture and related buslnesses. lncludlng almost 70 new <br />ou-fara joba 10 the two countlea, with total wagea estimatee! at <br />over $400.000 annually.
