The active
storage was 3,583,000 acre-feet.
Releases for power production
caused the reservoir to recede ]3
feet during the rail and winter to
elevation 6,023 feet. The April.
July 1975 runoff above Flaming
Gorge was 1,635,000 acre.feet, or
14.3 perc.ent of the lo-ng-time aver-
age. With this runoff, Flaming
Gorge filled on July 28, 1975, at

elevation 6,040 feet with an active
storage of 3,750,000 acre.feet of
water. (Chart 2.)

During August, September, and
October, reservoir releases were
increased to above normal. The
reservoir water le\'el was drawn
down so releases during November
could be reduced to permit opera-
tion of construction equipment in
the river below the dam to remove
material deposited during s.pillway
testing in July 1975.

OUTFLOW
UPPER aUARTI LE
4
3
2
0 0
z
0 4
u
w 3
w
~
w 2
w
.
u
" 0
0
u
0 4
8 3
=

>"
".,,-,-
w ~ " ,.. ,; u z' <i w > "
z ~ '" ~ z ~ '"
~ "i ~ w U 0 w ~ w "' ~ "' "i "i ~ w
~ "' ~ I 0 z c ~ ~ "' ~ "' ~ I
WallrVelr Illi

a:: ri >-
~ ~ ~
WatlrVlarllJ5
