<br />Lower Basin Uses <br />and Losses <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />During water year 1975, releases <br />01 6,973,400 acre.leet from Lake <br />Havasu were made to meet the <br />requirements for water deliveries <br />at Imperial Dam, as well as those <br />01 the Colorado River Indian <br />Reservation near Parker, Ariz., <br />the Palo Verde Irrigation District <br />near Blythe, Calif., other miscel- <br />laneous users along the river, and <br />transit I09ses between Parker Dam <br />and Imperial Dam. Deliveries to <br />Mexico consisted of river water <br />delivered to Imperial Dam and <br />waste and drainage return flows <br />from water users below Imperial <br />Darn. Beneficial use of the small <br />amount of regulatory storage space <br />in Imperial, Laguna, and Senator <br />Wash Reservoirs resulted in the <br />minor regulatory waste of 13,035 <br />acre- feet. <br /> <br />The major water diversion above <br />Parker Dam was by Metropoli- <br />tan Water District (MWD) 01 <br />Southern California. MWD <br />pumped 880,000 acre.leet from <br />Lake Havasu during water year <br />1975, which included 8,619 acre. <br />feet for delivery to the city of <br />Tijuana, pursuant to a contract for <br />temporary emergency delivery of <br />a portion of Mexico's treaty entitle. <br />ment. During water year 1975, <br />releases of 8,219,200 acre. feet <br />were made from Lake Mohave to <br />provide for releases at Parker <br />Damj to supply diversion require- <br />ments of the MWD, miscellaneous <br />contractors, and other users; to <br />offset evaporation and other <br />transit losses between Davis and <br />Parker Dams; and to maintain the <br />scheduled levels of Lake Havasu. <br /> <br />During water year 1975, releases <br />018,374,300 acre.feet were made <br />from Lake Mead at Hoover Dam <br /> <br />to regulate the levels of Lake <br />Mohave and to provide lor the <br />small uses and the losses from this <br />reservoir. In addition, 81,000 <br />acre-feet were direrted from Lake <br />Mead for use by Lake Mead N a. <br />tional Recreation Area, Boulder <br />City, Basic Management, Inc., and <br />contractors of the Division of <br />Colorado River Resources, State <br />of Nevada. During water year <br />1975, the total releases and diver- <br />sions from Lake Mead were <br />8,455,300 acre. feet. <br /> <br />
