These recommendations are then considered by the advisory <br />committee for final recommendation to the Division. These subcommittees <br />provide a device for broad public input into the state's nonpoint source <br />program. <br /> <br />The following is the mission statement and core membership roster of the <br />various subcommittees. <br /> <br />Mission statement Urban and Construction Runoff Subcommittee <br /> <br />The mission of the urban and construction runoff subcommittee is to serve as <br />the advisory council to the Colorado Nonpoint Source Task Force and the Water <br />Quality Control Division for urban and construction runoff pollution <br />problems. To accomplish this mission the subcommittee is comprised of <br />agencies and individuals involved in efforts to control these sources and also <br />interests which may be affected by these efforts. <br />The subcommittee will serve in the following roles, <br /> <br />1) To review and make recommendations for proposed changes to the Colorado <br />Nonpoint Assessment Report. <br /> <br />2) To determine appropriate management programs for control of urban and <br />construction runoff and to update and modify these programs as <br />necessary. <br /> <br />3) TO develop a best management practices (aMP'S) handbook for urban and <br />construction ru~off, and update these practices as necessary. <br /> <br />4) To prioritize and recommend urban and construction runoff projects for <br />nonpoint source funding. <br /> <br />5) To serve as a focal point for public input to the urban and <br />construction runoff management programs. <br /> <br />6) To determine public information and education needs for urban and <br />construction nonpoint sources. <br /> <br />The subcommittee will have open membership, but the following organizations <br />represent a core group which should be intimately involved in the subcommittee, <br /> <br />Water Quality Control Division <br /> <br />Urban Drainage and Flood control District <br /> <br />Cherry Creek Basin Association <br /> <br />summit Water Quality Committee <br /> <br />Colorado Environmental Coalition <br /> <br />Colorado Municipal League <br /> <br />Colorado Division of Highways <br /> <br />Colorado Association of Home Builders <br /> <br />Page 11 <br />
