Table 6 shows that during 20 years <br /> <br />of the 23-year period the shortages were reduced, and <br /> <br />during one year the reduction amounted to 91.000 acre- <br /> <br />feet. Figure 2 shows the effect of the operational <br /> <br />plan on average monthly diversion shortages. During <br /> <br />the months of May through September the shortages were <br /> <br />significantly reduced. and they were only slightly <br /> <br />increased in April and October. <br /> <br />The effect of the operational plan on stateline <br /> <br />flow is minor. The historic monthly stateline flow, <br /> <br />which is shown in table 19. was obtained from the annual <br /> <br />reports of the Arkansas River Compact Administration. <br /> <br />Table 7 shows that the average irrigation season flow <br /> <br />was reduced about 2,000 acre-feet. but when the flood <br /> <br />year of 1965 is not considered the effect of the opera- <br /> <br />tional plan was to increase the flow by 4.000 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Figure 3 shows the effects that the operational plan <br /> <br />had on the average monthly flow during the irrigation <br /> <br />season. Reductions occurred during April. May. August. <br />
