The equation was to <br /> <br />be based on climatic data that would be available prior <br /> <br />to the time when the releases were to be made. Head- <br /> <br />gate diversion requirements were considered to be the <br /> <br />amounts of diversions at the ditch headgates that were <br /> <br />required to provide the crops with the amounts of water <br /> <br />needed for optimum growth and included both transporta- <br /> <br />tion and farm losses. <br /> <br />The maximum release equation was developed from a <br /> <br />mult~ple regression analysis performed, using the NCR <br /> <br />package, with the headgate diversion requirements from <br /> <br />table 16 as the dependent variables and monthly degree- <br /> <br />days; monthly average of precipitation measured at <br />
