/
, ",

i ~2 0 J

18.

What is the origin of the numbers in the second column on page 77?

19.

On page 77, the increased net income due to additional water is $4702.
However, on additional $5665 investment in form equipment is needed to
produce this increase of $4702. Doesn't this additional cost need to be
consid~red in calculating increased net income?

20.

The farms used in exhibits 4 and 7 are identical, except that the farm budget in
exhibit 7 describes benefits and costs 50 years from now. The exhibit 7 farm
has increased sales of $3657, and additional farm expenses of $394. Hhy are
these additional yields (which account for the increased sales) attributable
as a project benefit?

21.

What is the source of the indirect and public benefit coefficients listed
on page 77?

22. On page 78 indirect and public economic losses were calculated only for 14 100
acres of pasture and 1 900 of wheat land. Why weren't indirect and public
economic losses calculated for the other acreage?

23. In calculating adverse effects of project,(page 78), only 36 246 acres were
considered. How does this analysis need to be modified, given the current
estimates of more than 44 000 acres?

24. In calculating the adverse effects of the project, (page 78), it is estimated
that 40 families will need to be relocated at a cost of $1235 per family. What
are the current estimates for the number of families to be relocated, and what
is the current estimate of relocation costs?

25. In 1963 a survey was made to determine the potential market for water from the
Narrows resevoir. (See page 23.) Has a survey been done sinece that time?
If so, what was the price per acre-foot used in the survey to determine the
potential market?

26. What is the current cost of pumping water below the proposed Narrows site?

27. What is the going market price for supplemental irrigation water below the
proposed site in late summer?

28. Describe the land that will undergo a change in use of ownership as a result
of the project. More specifically, break out each of the following, by land
capability class and current land use, and land ownership:

(a) land inside the take line, definitely to converted from present use

(b) land inside the take line, possibly leasable

(c) land outside the take line, below high wa~er line

(d) land outside the take line, not included in (x), with reasonable
probability of being affected.

(e) land outside take line, for roads and railroad rerouting

(f) additional lands, with reasonable probability of being converted to
other uses (e.g., subdivisions, additional development, etc.)
