- -i"-

.

.

Mr. Turner himself recommended supplementary studies on:

1) A detailed analysis of the biological and chemica 1
properties of the injected fluids and the formation
water. Effects of injected fluid on the rocks of
the reservoir, what long range impact it may have.

2) Research on rates of injection and injection pressu~es,
lithostatic pressures and other engineering data should
be investigated, to design pumping equipment.

In conclusion, Turner's report did suggest that deep injection

is a possible alternative to the disposal of brine. However, the

report did not treat the actual specifics of deep well injection to

answer aIL of the environmental, geological, and engineering questions.

000410
