COLORADO <br /> <br />November 4, 1960 <br /> <br />1 <br />, <br /> <br />Monthly Report <br /> <br />October, 1960 <br /> <br />Rio Grande Division <br /> <br />There were no activities in connection with this Division during <br />the month. <br /> <br />Closed Basin Division <br /> <br />A memorandum report by the Fish and Wildlife Service on the water <br />salvage plan was received at the end of the month. The Project <br />office has been requested to review and comment on the report with <br />comments to be furnished the Regional Director, Bureau of Reclamation <br />by November 15, 1960. <br /> <br />Conejos Division <br /> <br />A conference was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 4, 1960 <br />with representatives of the Bureau of Reclamation and the Corps of <br />Engineers in attendance. The conference was at the request of the <br />Corps of Engineers for consideration of proposed flood control <br />regulations for Platoro Reservoir. The conference was successfully <br />concluded with the understanding that the proposed regulations <br />would be discussed with the interested States and the Rio Grande <br />Compact Commission. The regulations will state that all operations <br />will be in accordance with the Rio Grande Compact with the possible <br />exception of such operations as may be required for the safety of <br />public property. <br /> <br />During the month the Board of Directors of the Conejos Water <br />Conservancy District adopted a budget for 1961 and certified the <br />same mill levy to the Conejos County Assessor of 1.32 mills. <br /> <br />Mr. T. H. Rees, who has been engaged to audit the books of the <br />Conejos District visited the Project office to discuss the District's <br />history. The project Manager was able to give considerable help to <br />Mr. Rees as this is the first audit of the District's affairB and <br />records are sketchy at best. Records in the future will be better <br />kept as a result of the audit and Mr. Rees' report and recommendation. <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />r ~'~.. ,.. -' ,','" <br />t.~ .
