.1" .. r..

~
;--~
':::::>~

,e>

.'r~
.....'
...;.....

rather used to augment the salinity program when SCS is taking
the lead role in planning and providing technical assistance.
presently the habitat developments planned under these non-
salinity programs are not being tracked or counted as mitigation

for the salinity program even though they are planned within the

salinity project area by SCS employees. Weare seeing much

interest in these other programs by individuals waiting for

approval of their salinity contract who have already received

planning and technical assistance from the SCS for development of

wildlife habitat projects. As wildlife projects are funded from

non-salinity programs we will lose opportunities for valuable

mitigation under the salinity program.

We would like to resolve

this issue so the SCS can continue to provide technical
assistance for non-salinity programs, and use these programs to
enhance or augment the salinity program.
