Through the HEP process ,we have identified the need to

emphasize development of woody/riparian type 6 wetlands to
compensate for losses of HUV's represented by the yellow warbler

model.

In the covertyping process for each salanity contract we
have a discrepancy of 42.6 acres between existing and planned
conditions., This error may be due to rounding acreage figures as
Z1i well as loses in the accounting process. We will review all
covertype maps and data in order to resolve these differences.
Through CWEP evaluations, greater value (WUV's) can be
achieved through construction of wetlands on upland sites verses'
enhancement of existing wetlands. We will continue to emphasize
wetland development on upland sites.

To date, a small percentage of the wildlife and salinity
reduction practices have been installed. Therefore the

monitoring sites probably do not reflect anticipated HUV's
project wide. Changes in crop rotations, and other farm
activities unrelated to salinity practices will influence HUV's

both positively and negatively.

.<, .
.':'.

We are concerned that the lower priority given to wildlife

only salinity contracts may result in losing these potential
