Title: Rivers of Colorado Water Watch Network. <br /> <br />Prepared for: Colorado Division of Wildlife, Denver, CO. <br /> <br />Time of Study: 1991-present <br /> <br />Sites: <br />Slate River below Coal Creek <br />East River above confluence with Taylor River <br /> <br />Parameters: <br />pH, Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen, Phenolphthalein Alkalinity, BGMR <br />Alkalinity, Total Alkalinity, Hardness, Total metals, Dissolved metals <br /> <br />Purpose of Study: The Colorado Division of Wildlife has identified several <br />stream systems in Colorado on which to initiate a water quality sampling <br />program utilizing schools and community members. The data collection is <br />an ongoing effort made possible by the Crested Butte Public School and the <br />Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. Sampling takes place every month in <br />the winter and up to four times per month in the summer. Metals samples <br />are sent in for analysis; these data are not of as yet available. <br /> <br />Other aspects of the study: Provides important involvement by students in <br />understanding water quality.
