Title: Draft 1986/1987 East/Slate River Study Summary Report.

Prepared by: District 10 Regional Planning Commission, Montrose, CO.

Date: 1987

Time of Study: May 1986 through April 1987

Sites: Includes 33 sites on the East River, the Slate River, Washington
Gulch. See pp. 21 through 23 for site locations and descriptions. Please
note that site RB-100 is the same site as SR03 and that RJ-B is the same
site as ER01.

Parameters:
pH, Conductivity, DO, Temperature, Fecal coliform, Ammonia nitrogen,
Nitrate nitrogen, Phosphate phosphorus,

Purpose of Study: The study serves as a follow-up to a study completed in
June of 1982 by Camp, Dresser, and McKee (CDM), entitled "Wastewater
Facilities Plan for the East River Valley, Gunnison County, Colorado".
Growth projections as developed by the COM report proved too high, thus
necessitating a reevaluation of the current water quality and growth
potential in the area. Comparisons are made between this study's data and
COM data.

Data are presented on pp. 24 through 36. Evaluation of data are presented
on pp.38 through 48.

Other aspects of the study: This is one of the few studies that include 24-
hour sampling during the winter. See pp 33-36 for results. Only those sites
associated with the Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte Sewage Treatment
Plants were sampled.

24

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
J
I
I
I
I
I
