Statement:

(1) Description of the Arkansas, White and Red River Basins
vill be brief and concise and of a general narrative form tllat can be
referred to by subject coordinating agencies in preparation of their
section or appendix of the report. The primary purpose of this appendix
vill be to minimize repetition of the description of the basin in the
various sections and appendices of the report. Hovever, it may be nec-
essary and desirable for other sections and appendices of the report to
cover in more detail, or to emphasize certain aspects of the basin in
order to present the subject matter ade~uately. For instance, the section
on d=ainage will probably need supplemental description of localized
areas where drainage is a serious problem and the fish and wildlife
section vill want to give more descriptive information on vegetative
cover. The description of the basin in this appendix will cover the
folloving major subjects:

(a) Brief description of ~he three basins, including

history.

(b) Separate descriptions of the Arkansas, White and Red
River Eaeins of the ~ollowing major items:

1.
