These features were subsequently des-
ignated the Weminuche Pass and Rio Grande Divisions. The authorized
Weminuche Pass Division, which would provide for diversion of flows of
Los Pinos River of the Colorado River basin into the Rio Grande for
use on the project lands, is found economically unjustifi8d at this
time.

The plan of,development contemplates construction of the Wagon Wheel
Gap dam and reservoir for regulation of the flows of the Rio Grande
under terms of the Rio Grande Compact, to provide a supplemental and
regulated surface water supply for 271,040 acres of presently irrigated
lands, flood control and related benefits. It also contemplates instal-
lation of a deep well pump on an experimental basis to determine the
possibilities of water salvage and drainage relief in the Closed Basin
Area. Releases would be made from the Wagon Wheel Gap reservoir into
the channel of the Rio Grande for diversion and distribution through
existing irrigation systems.

CONSTRUCTION EXPENDITUREs

Wagon Wheel Gap dam and reservoir
Land and rights-of-way
Relocations. . . .
Reservoir clearing
Dam. . . . ,
Spillway . . , . .
Outlet works . , .
Mosca-Hooper Pump Installation.
Recreational Facilities - Federal
Fish and Wildlife Facilities. .
Total Federal project cost,

. . . . . . . . $ 22,175,000 1/
.$ 641,000 -
2,433,000 1/
650,000 -
15,1.95,000
1,239,000
1,717,000

y

12',000
59,000
325,000 2/
.:II 22,~~,ooO 11
6"]1
Total cost of relocation of U, S.
