<br />Location.--Water-stage recorder, lat 33008154", long 107012'22", in SW\ sec. 25, T. 13 S., R. 4 W.,
<br />(proJected) in Pedro Armendariz Grant, 1.0 mile downstream from dam and 1.5 miles upstream from
<br />Cuchillo Negro River. Datum of gage is 4,242.09 ft above mean sea level, datum of l~29. Prior to
<br />April 23, 1942, at several different sites and datums.
<br />
<br />Drainaqe area.--29,450 sq mi, approximately (includes 2,940 sq mi in closed basin in San Luis Valley,
<br />Colo.) .
<br />
<br />Averaqe discharqe.--66 years (1915-80), 975 ft3js (706,400 acre-ft per year).
<br />Extremes.--1915-80; Maximum daily discharge, 8,200 ft3js May 22. 1942; no flow at times prior to 1929
<br />and March 2-4, 1979.

<br />Remarks.--Records good. Flow regulated by Elephant Butte Reservoir. Diversions for irrigation of about

<br />above mean sea level, datum of 1929. October 13, 1938 to December 31. 1945, at datum 5.0 ft higher.
