8.35 inches for 2,585 square miles was computed for the Two Forks

design storm. The design rainflood.volume 3,17 inches was 38 percent

of the depth-duration value, 8.35 inches. The 24-hour, depth-duration

value of that portion of the design storm for Narrows damsite which

occurs above Two Forks damsite was 5,80 inches (see Table 1 of design

storm memorandum). Assuming that 38 percent of 5.80 inches would

become runoff, a value of 2.20 inches of total excess precipitation

for the 2,585~square-mile area above Two Forks damsite was computed

and used.

Subarea incremental design storm precipitation values as arranged for

use and respective incremental excess precipitation values used for

each suba~ea are listed in Table A~5, attached. Subareas for which

identical excess precipitation increments are applicable1are grouped

together,

Subarea Design Flood Contributions

As.stated in the text of this study, a copy of the discharges of

rainflood runoff for each subarea computed by the FGRAPH program is

filed with the supporting data for the study.

A hydro graph of the total inflow to Chatfield Reservoir was obtained

by lagging the rainflood discharges at Two Forks damsite (derivation

described in text of this study) 2 hours for traveltime to the

reservoir, adding the discharges recorded at the gage, South Platte

"

18

..

"".'

."..,......'.

..'-7.....
