<br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />that the chief of engineers is hereby authorized to operate the <br />conservation features of the John Martin reservoir project in a <br />manner conforming to such compact with such exceptions as he and <br />the administration created pursuant to the compact may jointly <br />approve. <br /> <br />B. This compact shall remain in effect until modified or <br />terminated by unanimous action of the states and in the event of <br />modification or termination all rights then established or re- <br />cognized by this compact shall continue unimpaired. <br /> <br />IN WTTNESS WHEREOF,. the c.oniniSsioners have signed this compact <br />in triplicate original, one of which shall be forwarded to the <br />secretary of state of the United States of America and one of <br />which shall be forwarded to the governor of each signatory state. <br /> <br />Done in the city and county of Denver, in the state of Colorado, <br />on the fourteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one <br />thousand nine hundred and forty-eight. <br /> <br />Henry C. Said compact shall not <br />become effective unless and until the same has been ratified by the <br />legislature of each of the signatory states and consented to by <br />the congress of the United States. The governor of the state of <br />Colorado shall give notice of the ratification of the said compact <br />to the governor of the state of Kansas and to the president of the <br />United States. <br /> <br />37-69-103. Interstate agency created by compact.-- It is hereby <br />recognized, found. determined. and declared that the compact creates <br />an interstate agency which is known as the Arkansas river compact <br />administration and which is an independent entity whose members and <br />employees are not officers and employees of either of the states <br />signatory to the compact. <br /> <br />I-149 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />37-69-104. Appointment of members of compact administration.-- <br />After the said compact becomes effective the Colorado members of <br />the Arkansas river compact administration shall be appointed by the <br />governor, shall serve until revocation of their appointment by the <br />governor, and, on behalf of the Arkansas river compact administration, <br />the state of Colorado shall pay the necessary expenses and also <br />compensation of said members in an amount which shall be fixed by <br />the governor and when so fixed shall be changed only by action of <br />the governor. <br /> <br />37-6gcI05. Payment of expenses of compact adminlstration.-- <br />The Colorado share of the expenses of the Arkansas river compact <br />administration and the expenses and compensation of the Colorado <br />members of that administration shall be paid out of funds appropriated <br />by the general assembly to the Colorado water conservation board and <br />warrants shall be drawn against such appropriation upon vouchers <br />signed by the governor and the director of the Colorado water <br />conservation board. <br /> <br />37-69-106. Administrative code inapplicable.-- The provisions <br />of articles 2, 3, 31, 35, and 36 of title 24, C.R.S. 1973, shall <br />be inapplicable to any acts or proceedings taken to carry out the <br />purposes of said compact. <br /> <br />1-150 <br />
