The impactS
identified are those which can be expected to occur as a result of the proposed activities and
alternatives detailed in Chapter 2. The pOlentia] for successful mitigation of impacts to wetlands is
also discussed. Table 4-3, Wetland Acreage to be Impacted by Alternative, depicts the total acreages
to be directly impacted by the various alternatives.

I TABLE 4-l I
. . No Action

Under Alternative A, the project area would essentially remain in its existing state, supporting
current land uses. The total acreage of wetlands and the characteristics of the plant communities
would not likely change significantly in the future, barring any unforeseen site developments or
alterations in recreation or grazing policy.

4.5.2.2 Alternetive B . Proposed RB8erYoir Expension

Under Alternative B, the primary impact to the wetlands resource would be the inundation of a
portion of the wetlands surrounding the reservoir as a result of the planned increase in storage
capacity. This inundation is a form of "filling" and is, therefore, considered to be an impact to be
addressed. A total of approximately 15.09 acres of wetlands would be affected as a result of this
Alternative. This acreage includes the wetland area to be inundated by the increased storage capacity

$::~:::z:;:,~~w;:;~~~~~...:W~~;::::r~~"0*:.....,:.}:%'7l{:<<<.,~~~::.::;:r:<'........x:::3m:::m:::;:::::i~>>3:::;';">>.:?::;:::<<''ii:,>0.

Page 4.16

September 1993
