<br />~ This area produces 90 percent of the annual Oklahoma gas production.

<br />Although the number of farms has decreased 01% over the last
<br />45 years, farm size has continued to enlarge. For example in 1920,
<br />23% of the farms were 500 acres or larger, while now 64% of the
<br />farms are greater than 500 acres in size. Acr2ages of crops grown
<br />in this region are high and are of vital importance to the needed
<br />supply of food and fiber for the nation.
