<br />rhe 53rd Annual Meeting of the Rio Grande Compact Commission was held in Alamosa,
<br />:olorado on March 26, 1992.
<br />
<br />'he Commission reviewed its prior reports and the current reports of the Secretary
<br />elative to streamflow at Compact gaging stations and storage in reservoirs for 1991.
<br />he Comm'ission found that:
<br />
<br />a) Deliveries of water at the COlorado-New Mexico state line by Colorado
<br />amounted to 311,400 acre-feet in 1991 and the scheduled delivery for
<br />the year was 310,200 acre-feet. The accrued credit of Colorado was
<br />22,900 acre-feet on January 1, 1992. The increase in storage in 1991
<br />in reservoirs in Colorado constructed after 1937 aggregated 10,200
<br />acre-feet..
<br />
<br />.J Deliveries of water into Elephant Butte Reservoir, as measured by
<br />the Elephant Butte Effective SUPply, amounted to 942,100 acre-feet
<br />in 1991 and the scheduled delivery for the year was 837,800 acre-feet.
<br />The accrued credit of New Mexico was 54,000 acre-feet on January 1, 1992.
<br />Water stored in reservoirs in New Mexico above San Marcial totalled
<br />20,900 acre-feet on December 31, 1991. The decrease in storage in
<br />1991 in reservoirs in New Mexico above San Marcial constructed after
<br />1929 aggregated 2,500 acre-feet.
<br />
<br />Releases of usable water in 1991 from Project Storage amounted to
<br />626,300 acre-feet.
<br />
<br />Expenses of the administration of the Rio Grande Compact were $118,999
<br />in the fiscal year ending June 30, 1991. The United States bore
<br />$49,870 of this total; the balance of $69,129 was borne equally by
<br />the three States party to the Compact.
