Ho",ever, if a State "'ater pollution centro 1 agency <br /> <br /> <br />has already adopted revisions and the attorney general of the State says <br /> <br /> <br />that the revisions ",ere legally adopted and "i11 be valid if approved, <br /> <br /> <br />they may become enforceable revisions if approved by the Administrator. <br /> <br /> <br />A governor .of .one State affected by the Hater quality standards of <br /> <br />another State may request the Administrator to call a conference te <br /> <br />consider revising the st!mdards of the neighboring State. <br /> <br />After a conference is held, the Administrator may reject the <br /> <br />revisions as being inconsistent ",ith the Federal l'later Pollution Control <br /> <br />Act .or accept them by publishing the revisions in the Fed~'ral Reflister. <br /> <br />If, ",ithin six months after publication of the revisions, the State <br /> <br />has net adopted the revisions Or petitioned fer a public hearing, the <br /> <br /> <br />Administrater Hill promulgate the revisions by publishing them again <br /> <br /> <br />in the rederal ReKister. The revisiens beceme effective 30 days after <br /> <br /> <br />pub lication. <br />If the State peti tions for a he,aring and the Adrninis trater agrees <br /> <br />that conditions "arrant a hearing, the hearing board has these courses <br /> <br />.of action: <br /> <br />--The board can approve the revisions as premu1gated by the Admini~t~ato~, <br /> <br />--It can agree "lith the Administrator's refusal to approve revisions~ <br /> <br />and then no revisions ,,'ill take effect. <br /> <br />--The board may modify the Administrator's recommendations or reCOlmnelld <br /> <br />revisions in the "ater quality standards in cases where the Administra::or <br /> <br />has denied any revisions. <br /> <br />
