The NRCS will assist the sponsors in providing <br />technical assistance to landowners or ope~ators to plan and <br />install land treatment practices shown in the plan. <br />Percentages of technical assistance costs to be borne by the <br />SDonsors and NRCS are as follows: <br /> <br />(%) <br /> <br />NRCS Estimated technical <br />assistance costs <br />(%) (S) <br /> <br />works of improvement Sponsors <br /> <br />3. The sponsors will obtain applications from owners of <br />not less than 30 percent of the land in the problem area, <br />indicating that they will carry out the planned land <br />treatment measures. These applications will be obtained <br />before the first long-term land treatment contract is <br />executed. <br /> <br />4. The sponsors will obtain agreements with .landowners or <br />operators to operate and maintain the land treatment <br />practices for the protection and improvement of the <br />watershed. <br /> <br />5. The sponsors and NRCS will each bear the cost of <br />project administration that each incurs, estimated to be <br />$30,000 and $172,000, respectively. <br /> <br />6.
