Flooding: A flood of three orders of magnitude is
required to displace the native fish. Consistent
with Southwest streams. The flood of 1983 (91,000
cfs) did not remove the non-native fish.
b. Adult HBC are very resilient and can handle wide
range of flow and temperature.
c. Key problem is recruitment of the young fish into
the population
d. Temperature is the primary driving variable to the
recruitment to the population
e. Backwaters are tied to the thermal regime. Used as
habitat for the young fish.'
f. TUrbidi ty is used as cover by the fish. If the
turbidity is not present, depth is used as a
substitute by the HBC
g. Adult HBC do not appear to be limited by food under
the current flow regimes

f1:
,
'i-:._

C.

REVIEW OF THE MARCH 2, 1994 MEETING

1.
2.
3.

:'<

<;

;.;.-~
~~~
.',
-:~:
)'-.
