In order to effe~'t1V"ly accomplish the <br />work in agriculture and to insure coordination of that work, the follow- <br />ing organiza-tion and procedure is propossd: <br /> <br />The work of the U. S. Department of Agriculture will be dons in regional <br />and state offioes of the respeotive agenoies 'to the maximum extent possible, <br />There will be established in Tulsa Ii.' SITIall coordinating group of JrSDA <br />personnel which will consist mainly of' members of the USDA Field' Committee. <br />This group will serve in an advisory capacity to the Secretary's repre- <br />sentative on the AWR Basins Intor-Agenoy Cornm1ttee, as a' coord1nating <br />group on the agricultural work, and individually as work leadere on var- <br />ious aspects of the work. . <br /> <br />The states are invited to coordinate their agrioultural work in oon- <br />neotion with the AWR study by assigning suoh'technical personnel as they <br />may wish to work with USDA technioal personnel on various aspeots of the <br />study. Lilwwise, Federal members of the AWR Basins Inter-Agency Com~ <br />mittee are invited to make similar arrangements. <br /> <br />Work leaders or chairmeri' 'have been designated fcr various pha'ses <br />of the work. These leaders will be'res'ponsible for coordinating the <br />work of various agencies of the U'. S.D'epartment of Agriculture. . They <br />will also assist the Secretary's representative in coordinating this . <br />work with the work of the states and Federal departments. For' the most <br />part, these chairmen oonsist of members of the USDA Field Committee. <br /> <br />Following is a list of the wo:rk :oategories, toget/1erwiththe depart- <br />mental agenoy partioipation in each category. the' c'atego';y of RUn~ <br />off and Waterflow Retardation will be oarried' out through the AWR' Work <br />Group on Flood Control, Runoff and Waterflow Retardation and Flo'od' Fore- <br />oasting. The categories of Drainag;e and Irri gation \'Ii11 be carried out <br />through the AWR Work Groups on Drainage and Irrigat ion.
