The basin has <br />national forest and national grassland that ane managed for water, timber, forage, <br />wildlife, and recreation. <br /> <br />Public Domain is administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The basic <br />federal management objective for these lands is to achieve their maximum use in <br />the public interest, consistent with conservation, and with development of the <br />productive capacity. These lands are managed with grazing, timber, water, forage, <br />wildlife and recreation. <br /> <br />National Parks System has the Rocky Mountain National Park to administer. It <br />is administered for the purpose of conserving scenery, wildlife, natural and <br />historic objects, and provide for the enjoyment "in such manner and by such means <br />as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations". <br /> <br />Reclamation Projects are managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. The <br />multi-purpose management of these lands includes management for water storage, <br />irrigation, municipal water supplies, recreation, fish and wildlife, power, and <br />project service facilities. <br /> <br />Flood Control Projects - the Army Corps of Engineers, Department of the <br />Defense, manages certain lands that were acquired primarily for flood control and <br />resource development purposes. These lands are managed for multiple-purpose use <br />that includes management for riverflow control, flood control, power development, <br />navigation, irrigation, municipal water supply, recreation, and fish and wildlife. <br /> <br />Military - The Department of Defense owns and administers military areas such <br />as Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Fort Logan, Lowry Air Force Base, Fitzsimmons Army <br />Hospital, and missile sites. Specific administration is by the respective Agency <br />(Army, Navy, or Air Force) that is using the land. <br />
