<br />Streamflow and Mean Temperature:

<br />Figure I illustrates the relationship between streamflow and temperature. The intent of Figure I
<br />was to determine if there was a relationships between the peak flow at Cameo and mean daily
<br />temperature at Glenwood Springs, as a way of estimating the timing of the spring peak flow. As
<br />Figure I illustrates, in 1999, approximately three days after the mean temperature at Glenwood
<br />Springs reached 600F for an extended period, the flow at Cameo peaked. This trend appears to be
<br />consistent with the past three water years. The data show that when the average daily
<br />temperature reaches 600F for an extended period, the streamfJows peak anywhere from two to
<br />five days later.
