<br />The Greetville-Carbondale Water Association
<br />
<br />is located in Las Animas County, two miles south of
<br />
<br />the City Limits for the City of Trinidad. The area
<br />
<br />proposed to be included in the Association's bound-
<br />
<br />aries are the developed properties on the east and
<br />
<br />west side adjacent to Interstate 25. The Town of
<br />
<br />Starkville adjoins the Association on the south.
<br />
<br />The Trinidad Dam project boundary adjoins the Assoc-
<br />
<br />iation property on the west.
<br />
<br />Climate: The climate for the Greetville-Carbondale
<br />
<br />Water Association area is intermediate between plains
<br />
<br />and mountainous types. The association experiences
<br />
<br />a dry climate, but precipitation is greater than in
<br />
<br />the plains. Temperatures are modified by the
<br />
<br />presence of the mountains and are therefore warmer
<br />
<br />in the winter and cooler in the summer than at the
<br />
<br />lower elevations on the plains. The average number
<br />
<br />of days between the last spring and the first fall
<br />
<br />is 156 days between the occurance of temperatures
<br />
