Total System
active storage as of the end of January was 49.084 million acre-feet (mat) or 82 percent of capacity,
which is 4.907 maf less than one year ago.

February releases from Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams averaged 13,870, ] 3,940 and 8,500
cubic feet per second (cfs), respectively. Planned releases from those three dams for the month of
March 2001 are 18,400, 17,600 and 12,800 cfs, respectively. The March releases represent those
needed to meet downstream water requirements including those caused by reduced operation of
Senator Wash reservoir. Dredging operations directly above Morelos Dam have been completed,
with the dredge moving upstream. It is currently working in the Araz Drain area of the River.

The Lower Division states' estimated consumptive use of Colorado River water for calendar
year 2001, as estimated by Board staff, totals 8.473 maf and is projected as follows: Arizona,
3.032 maf; California, 5.147 maf; and Nevada, 0.294 maf. Estimated additional unmeasured return
flow credits of 0.237 mafwould reduce the total amount to 8.236 mal'. For calendar year 2001, it
is estimated the Central Arizona Project (CAP) will divert 1.626 maf, of which 0.315 maf is to be
credited to the Arizona Water Bank, and that The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
(MWD) will divert 1.236 maf.
