<br />W <br />l'V <br />CJl <br />..... <br /> <br />STATUS REPORT <br />COLORADO RIVER WA I'ER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> <br />Initial investigations for the Colorado River Water Quality Improvement <br />Program (CRWQIP) were begun in fiscal year 1972 with expenditures of <br />$357,000. The program was expanded in FY 1973 to $1,583,000 and the <br />program is funded this year at a level of $2.115,400. The total 10- <br />year investigation is estimated to cost approximately $18,000,000. <br /> <br />To place greater emphasis on nonstructural salinity control measures <br />and to accelerate certain other phases of the program, some restruc- <br />turing was done in July 1973. The following changes were made in the <br />type of report to be prepared on some of the units: <br /> <br />1. Glenwood-Dotsero Springs - status <br /> <br />2. Grand Valley Water System Improvement and Management - status <br /> <br />3. Blue Spring - wrap-up <br /> <br />4. Palo Verde Irrigation District Water System Improvement and <br />Management - status <br /> <br />These changes were dictated by the findings of the preliminary inves- <br />tigations and will help to accelerate the studies. <br /> <br />New line items were added as follows: <br /> <br />Unit <br /> <br />Fiscal year in which <br />study will be initiated <br /> <br />Point Source <br /> <br />1.
