Each producer <br />then selected a conservation treatment alternative that met their long-term goals and <br />financial situations. Subsequently, all engineering and designs were completed during the <br />fall and spring period (1996-97) on each of theithree farms. This included a complete <br />reorganization of the irrigation water delivery system for the Charles Gyurman farm. <br />I <br /> <br />Accomnlishment #4, The producers selected c~ntractors where required and the <br />application of the conservation treatment alternatives were completed. <br /> <br />Accomnlishment #5. On September 27, 1997, .the Spanish Peaks/Purgatoire River SCD <br />sponsored an erosion control and irrigation water management field day and tour for area <br />producers. Technical assistance for the tour w4s provided by the Bureau of Reclamation, <br />Natural Resources Conservation Service, and tl}e Colorado State University Cooperative <br />Extension Service. The following specific proj~cts and best management practices were <br />emphasized: i <br />i <br /> <br />1) Tail-water recovery <br />2) Use of polyacrylamides for irrigation-induced erosion control <br />3) Use of trash screens . <br /> <br />Appendix I shows the specific practices, practice extent, and costs associated with each of <br />the three producer projects. Appendix 2 shows the financial register of the Bureau of <br />Reclamation-Irrigation Demonstration Project ~ccount. The register shows each <br />transaction which includes the expenses associa~d with the educational/field tour activites. <br />
